  • Corporate Director – Adult Care Operations

    As we take the first revolutionary steps towards the transformation of Dorset Council, expert leadership will be absolutely critical. Working alongside the Executive Director and elected Members, you’ll be the catalyst for achieving our corporate goals and priorities. Under your inspiring leadership, your teams will give equal emphasis to the different needs of our residents and manage them in a coordinated way. They’ll also work with partners to provide integrated care through innovative joint commissioning arrangements. The key is to make sure services are accountable to local people and to consult with service users. Through insight, we can bring continuous improvement.

    The Adult Social Care Directorate is in a good place. Lots has been done over the past two years as part of transition and improvement. Working with the Executive Director and your own team, Children’s Education and Learning Services will excel and thrive in the diverse, inclusive culture you create. Together, you’ll place the educational, social and emotional needs of children and young people at the heart of our vision. Developing an effective and professional education and learning function, and driving transformational change across a spectrum of services including school’s admissions, out of school’s services, SEN and SEND assessments and advisory services, will be essential to us achieving this.

    With a professional qualification within education, you’ll have a track record as a successful senior leader. You will bring significant experience of leading an education service at a senior level and have a sound understanding of the legislative frameworks that education operates within.   • Head of Service – Adult Social Care – Specialist Services

Working closely with the Corporate Director, you’ll provide operational direction to support the delivery of social care pathways. Under your inspiring leadership, your teams will give equal emphasis to the different needs of our residents and manage them in a coordinated way. They’ll also work with partners to provide integrated care through innovative joint commissioning arrangements. We are now looking for an exceptional candidate to lead our operational hospital teams, covering the five acute hospitals in Dorset. You will have responsibility for the adult access and peripatetic team, as well as the specialist posts and teams for continuing health care, safeguarding, substance misuse and DOLS/Mental Capacity. To do this, you’ll develop strong relationships with locality health, well-being boards and a range of other partners, ensuring that we are closely aligned with the STP in partnership with Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole Council, the CCG and NHS providers.
